Draw a Pair of Crocus Pages – Class March 4

Image We’ll draw this crocus in class Thursday, March 4

On the first pair of clean pages that you have, draw these two crocus pages and the borders as follows: [The small crocus with the words is on the left side; and the large crocus is on the right]

Following are the dirctions for drawing the crocus on the right side:  [The one on the left is just tilted a bit differently].

Draw this crocus lightly in pencil.  We’ll shade with colored pencils in class

Begin by lightly sketching a circular clock in the upper left of your page.

Draw the stem from the lower as it bends, crosses the center, and points toward the 5 on the clock.

Add a pointed oval bloom on the tip of the stem, reaching from 5:00 to 11:00

Add modified ovals on each side of the middle petal.  They tuck behind the middle petal and disappear.

If we could xray through these outer petals, we would see that they are former around the flower’s center.

Also behind those front petals and on the other side of the center are 3 more petals

It may look like there are 4 petals, but the top right petal is curved and you are seeing the outer edge and the inner
